Nokia Pulls Back Skype from The Nokia Lumia 610 Due to Support Issues

The latest valuable addition to the Windows Phone Marketplace – Skype; will not be featured in the yet to release low budget Nokia Lumia 610 device due to support issues. The app was planned to be with the phone initially but is being pulled back as the Lumia 610 has just 256MB of RAM and runs Windows Phone Tango which helps the phone run on such low RAM but the Skype app to function properly requires more than just 256 MB and that is the sole reason the app is being withdrawn from the device. Here is a statement what Nokia China offers for this step:

“Nokia values the user experience provided by its products and services. Therefore, although the Skype Windows Phone version is workable on Nokia Lumia 610, after in-depth testing, we found that the user experience is not up to par with Nokia and Skype’s expectation and decided not recommending users using Skype on Nokia Lumia 610. In the future, users of Nokia Lumia 610 would no longer be able to download Skype Windows Phone version from Window Phone Marketplace. However, Skype Windows Phone version would still be available for other users.”

Well, I guess this should not affect the people’s mind or decision to buy the Lumia 610 which comes at such a low price and  you have still got the Tango app to make video and voice calls over the net. Still, if you have any thoughts, do express them in the comments section below.
